How are composers unique in music today? How does a composer become different in today’s musical society and still remain accessible? Many film composers have a studio full of virtual sounds, which are awesome, and have spent a small fortune building their libraries and learning production to create mock-ups that sound as close to the real thing as possible. Does being unique today call for using real human musicians? I’m beginning more and more to think so! Are all the composers out there ready for this? Yes – let’s do it! Write for musicians – not computer software!
Wow Laura — isn’t it amazing to think that using actual humans to play musical instruments, rather than computers, is a novel thought. Keep the banner flying for human musicians — you’re fighting the good fight!
I’m with you! The answer is “yes” ! Go humans….
